It can be a rare opportunity to talk with my teenager, to have him open up to me and express his feelings, anxieties, frustrations, insecurities or just what he did that day. Treasured moments! At those moments I feel that I am listening and understanding and he knows it. A connection! I can see a sense of "accomplishment" on his face. These moments increase my love for him and fill me with hope. Oh, and the best part is we get to enjoy a more agreeable, pleasant person for awhile.
